Preparing for your new puppy can be overwhelming. There are so many products to choose from. Here is a list of some of our favorites:

DOG FOOD

Here at Croft Kennels we use either ValuPak from our local farm center or Purina Pro Puppy Chicken and Rice (not Shredded Chicken) .

Your puppy will come home with a starter pack of food. If you prefer to use another brand, the starter pack will help make the transition easy and smooth for your new puppy.

We do recommend using a puppy based dog food for at least the first 6 months because it will have added calcium.

How to transition your puppy from Purina to your preferred brand:

Mix together 75% Start Pack : 25% New food for a meal or two
Then, 50% Starter Pack : 50% New food for a meal or two
Next, 25% Starter Pack : 75% New food for a meal or two
Last, 100% your preferred brand of dog food.

The entire process will take about 4 days to 1 week.
